IKEA RECALLS UNSAFE MATTRESSES

June 3, 2010, by Jeffrey J. Kroll

The popular Swedish home and furniture store, IKEA, announced today that it is recalling its Sultan Heidal spring mattresses. The mattresses fail to meet the federal mandatory open flame standard for mattresses, posing a fire hazard to consumers. The mattresses were sold exclusively at IKEA stores between June, 2007 and April, 2010. They were available in twin, full, queen and king, and retailed for $500 to $1,000 depending on size. If you own one of these mattresses, you should immediately stop using it and contact your local IKEA store for instructions on returning it and obtaining a replacement or full refund.
